Tamiya Acrylic Paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush or spray painting. When painting with a brush, it is recommended to use those with natural bristles (for example: PREMIUM SIBERIAN KOLINSKY BRUSH – 1 , High Grade Pointed Brush Sml - DC719 or HG Flat Brush - Small ). I've seen some of that Wrap Up Next stuff listed on RC Mart, I picked up some of their chrome/silver and honeycomb grill for my Mustang already, may have another look and see what their tints are like.Has anyone had any experience using them in this fashion, or should I attempt using the PS variants (37, 43, 42) - which will require more masking - instead? The Tamiya Acrylic Paint range can be brushed straight from the tub, or thinned to be used in an airbrush. Only thing doing this is you have to then leave if a while to harden back up again depending on how heavey you went back over with the thinners. Hi just tagged onto this old thread but have restarted airbrushing and have been experimenting the last week or so with Xtracrylix paints, looking for some advice on Tamiya gloss varnish. In that instance, paint the back side to keep depth, and use several light coats to ensure even coverage.

If you have the color you want in PS of course, and frankly, it will be better as they are the right paint for doing the job and paint from spray are well thinned down ready to go. Being a tinted clear paint you can easily get one area with a heavier coat of paint than another area and the results may not be what you're after. This stuff is supposed to be awesome, but it isn't water based paint and I don't know how to deal with it it. Also, I have tried putting some in Future to tint canopies but not too successful from a constant density perspective. I think general tamiya paints are thinned 1:1 with paint using tamiya thinners and sprayed at 15psi, that’s worked for me.I don't think that water would make it runny again but honestly, this isn't something that I normally deal with as I seal my models when I'm done painting them. The Tamiya Mini X-27 Clear Red Acrylic Paints come in 10ml bottles and are water-soluble and non-toxic. It is fantastic for working with an airbrush, and with proper dilution, it can also be used when working with a brush. A side note, I tried the same thing with Mr Color lacquer, using their thinners not water of course, results wasn't too good.

After all these to and fo, I cannot believe I completely forgot this: YES, YOU CAN IN FACT BRUSH PAINT PS PAINTS! But I always do a thorough cleaning with isopropil and it's about the same work no matter which I ran through the airbrush. As others have said, plenty of Mr Color Leveling Thinner, easily 60/40 as the Tammy Clears do seem to be thicker. I did several spoon tests and the orange looked way better over the aluminum than anything else I tried. I think the silver gave more the traditional candy red look but much depends on how many coats of red you put down.
