What else can I say about Alex? Well, he's a good dad, a good uncle, and a good husband. He tried. You'll see it throughout the book. You'll love him more and more as you read through the series of messages. Alex's father wants him to go to Harvard to study Medicine and he convinces Rosie to take the hotel management course at Boston University. Rosie gets a call from Boston University and runs to tell Alex. Alex and Bethany were making love and her loud moaning makes Rosie nauseous and she ends up puking. Rosie goes to a local chemist to find out and discovers that she is pregnant despite taking the pill.

Toby Quinn: Katie's best friend and their relationship is very similar to the relationship Alex and Rosie had as children. Toby and Katie lose touch and meet after several years where they realize they were always meant to be more than friends.Cover: I've seen two of the covers - The move cover (Left) and the book covers, even the original title of 'Love, Rosie' which was 'Where Rainbows End'. A large majority of the time, I opt for the original book covers because the movie covers either ruin it or give faces to characters which I haven't met yet. I like to imagine these characters for myself, and what they might look like based on small descriptions here and there - it allows the world to expand all within my own head without having someone else force this image there. But, this time was an exception. I absolutely adore the movie cover for Love, Rosie. It reminds me a lot of the movie, ' Like Crazy' where it's a romantic setting just between the two main characters. That lens flare. That 'look-at-the-other-when-they-aren't-looking'. The cute little gestures (Like looking at a camera together). It was so cute, and the original books covers couldn't rival it at all. Alex Stewart: The other main character of the book, originally from Dublin where he grew up with Rosie, his family moves to Boston where Alex eventually becomes a surgeon. Alex gets married there, but later discovers that he has feelings for Rosie. She gets into Boston University, Alex gets into Harvard, and everything is falling into place, when on the eve of her departure, Rosie gets news that will change their lives forever: She’s pregnant by a boy she’d gone out with while on the rebound from Alex.

Rosie and her inability to listen to everyone's advice, to be a negative whiny person and to never do anything for herself.

I just finished this book and watched the movie with Sav and Mara at the cinema, and my brain is reeling from the feeling. REELING. FROM THE. FEELING. Rosie Dunne I love you with all my heart, I have always loved you even when I was seven years old and lied about falling asleep on Santa watch, when I was ten years old and didn’t invite you to my birthday party, when I was eighteen and had to move away, even on my wedding days, on your wedding day, on christenings, birthdays, and when we fought. I loved you through it all. Make me the happiest man on this earth by being with me. Just what I'd needed! I guess sometimes you need to squeeze in a light read inbetween all the dark and tense ones! ;) From the bestselling author of PS, I Love You comes a delightfully enchanting novel about what happens when two people who are meant to be together just can't seem to get it right. This book will simultaneously make you laugh and cry. The characters are especially lovable and engaging, as they are each flawed and faced with struggle, making them ever more relatable and believable. This only results in emphasising the emotions felt whilst reading this rollercoaster book, which is similarly beautiful and tragic. I really loved Rosie, the main character who gave up her future when accidentally pregnant as a teenager. I felt that she portrayed a different kind of teen mother, and led me to question the stereotypes portrayed by the media today. She was also such a person, which may sound weird but when put into context is wonderful. Realistic and relatable characters are so unusual nowadays, that it was strangely refreshing to discover someone with whom you could shout alongside, not at. The crossed out messages that they really wanted to say but instead said something else, I thought was a really nice touch.
