Staying-power is mediocre, too - after two hours you're done with your "mating call". Other men's fragrances reveal their beguiling potential only after two or three hours...

Don't judge a book by its cover... well; don't judge a perfume by its opening. I love the smell of fig leaf and I love cocoa as well, should they be together? Maybe not. As soon as you spray Kokorico those two notes start to fight each other for some minutes. In the meanwhile I was thinking, 'oh God, what have I've done', because this was a wild blind buy. Otherwise I cannot explain the warm spice, the dark dense low, the tender scratching, the "Kokorico" on my woman's skin exudes after an almost two lashes long prelude of watery light green, latent fruit. The opening is interesting. I had never smelled rhubarb in a fragrance before, but I can definitly detect it, a natural-smelling rhubarb on the opening, slightly citric and sweet. It lasts for about 30 min, then comes the delicious cocoa + patchouli combo, which reminds me a bit of a younger brother of l'Instant Extreme from Guerlain. I prefer this one to LIEDG actually, both scent-wise (in the heart + drydown notes) and perfomance wise. Kokorico by Night is a performance beast, a good choice as a clubbing scent. This lasts about 8 hours on me, and even after a whole evening of frenetic clubbing I could smell it on me in the morning through my hangover lol.

You can spray 7/8 times with this due to the price and scent strength (mild). The initial scent, or top notes, do smell reminiscent of fresh potting soil lol. That is in 1st couple of minutes. Plus, it does have a "slight" vinegar or sour note. DON'T PANIC or JUDGE LMBO.Kokorico" is a warm, soft, dark, velvety, yet thoroughly masculine fragrance that women can still wear without hesitation. When I first sprayed this I thought "Wow, it's so peculiar!" Nothing like I've smelt before. It's dark and bitter. Woody and pungent. After it dried down, a bitter cocoa note emerged and I was starting to like it. The opening notes can be very intrusive and I would imagine not everyone would be into this. I would say this one is an acquired taste. The estimate delivery dates are based on the average delivery time. However, as we cannot guarantee the speed of the courier service.

When I put it on my skin I knew perfectly why this rare fragrance was discontinued and that is that for the year it came out and the Gaultier standards (especially in the time of Puig) this is a "rara avis" in their army of "Le male" this fragrance can be perfectly niche, it is a dark scent with an almost organic earthy taste that opens with a cocoa-patchouli combo that lasts throughout its life, the cocoa here is not sweet, for those who do not know the cocoa beans Toasted and grated they do not have a sweet taste or smell but rather bitter and dusty, this facet here is accentuated by patchouli and a very natural and organic vetiver. I do not know the fig plants so I do not know what the smell of their leaves is (one of the main components of this essence) but without a doubt this fragrance combines that facet of cocoa powder and patchouli with a green, sharp, wild touch with an almost milky touch and not at all sweet, all this on a slightly woody base of cedar. What I don't like is, that this fragrance has an androgynous vibe (in a bad way). It's too masculine of the spices because of the sharp vetiver/fig leaf/cedar notes, but also too feminine because of the edible cacao. I don't know how's this possible.. The fact is, I as a female wouldn't wear it, but I also definetly would not introduce this scent to my boyfriend. And we're both spicy orintal/gourmand lovers. I am a fig fiend. I love just about every fragrance that I’ve ever smelled containing fig, particularly fig leaf. I think fig leaf has a beautifully green, outdoorsy – sweet & sour smell. It’s really sharp, and it is a great scent to play against on the fragrance canvas because it responds so well to being mixed with base scents. KN is a beautiful example of that. I must say that I think the original Kokorico is also excellent, however this is my favorite of the two. The uniqueness of the fragrance, design of the bottle, and coupled with outstanding deal, Kokorico deserves a shot. The bigger message - it is OK to be different - it is what makes the "world go around". If the longevity and projection/sillage were greater, this would be a first class fragrance. All things considered, I still highly recommend adding to your collection.

The top of the composition features refreshing fig leaves, which provide energy, the heart is filled with raw cocoa, which stimulates (not the artificially sweet kind, but a natural extract), while woody notes of patchouli, cedar and vetiver express their masculinity and power. The fight last a few minutes and that's the source of so many dislikes. Wait, here it comes... does one note defeat the other? No, you just have to wait for the vetiver to tell them how to live in peace, it will be worth it. Once there is peace, you can enjoy a very spicy scent, earthy, green, expensive, really good and versatile (in my opinion) this will last for some 6 hours, after that spiciness slowly turns to a sweet chocolate, a little bit closer to the skin. This will last some 6 hours more. At that time I was not prepared for this dry, raw and bitter creation. It smelt strange but not in a way i found comfortable. Since then i have sprayed Kokorico randomly and just did it now again. It is excellent. The fragrance is all about the cocoa with the fig and patchouly exaggerating the raw greenness of the composition. It's still not a love, but i cannot deny its quality and the fact that i like it more and more. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette with an accompanying collection of body care products (deodorant, shower gel, aftershave lotion). The lesson here is to never make your mind up based on how a fragrances smells off a scent strip. Off the strip, it smelled herbal and leafy and NOT in a good way. Its predominant notes are patchouli with cocoa, vetiver and little else. It may have some wood, but the rest are very light notes.
