Unlike the Pro 2 2000, it does not have a large rubber grip that runs down the middle of the brush handle. Whilst this does make the Pro 1000 a little easier to wipe and keep clean, it does mean the Pro 2 feels a little more secure in the hand. From a conversation with the manufacturer, the following points are my understanding (in my own words)……

The head of the toothbrush smoothly surrounds the tooth to clean perfectly. This feature gives way to 100% plaque-removal for its 16 degree angled tooth bristles.

Built-in Timer

For more discussion on this and whether to opt for electric or manual, see our article is there such a thing as an eco-friendly electric toothbrush. Conclusion: good cleaning results but consider the alternatives The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 comes with a limited number of cleaning modes: daily clean and gum care. Although daily clean will be used the most, it is always nice to have a sensitive cleaning mode, which reduces the power of the oscillations for people with sensitive teeth. Another useful feature that it is missing is a tongue cleaning mode. 2) Mechanism of Action A pressure sensor is built into both of these models. However, only the Pro 2 has a visible pressure sensor. At the front of the electric toothbrush handle, close to its base there are two icons. One is the battery indicator light and the other is the charging icon. I will discuss this more in detail later.

Prices are always subject to change of course, but I do believe the Pro 2 is the better buy, even if the Pro 3 offers subtle benefits. The Oral-B Pro 650 comes in at a lower price point and thus sacrifices some of the features of the Oral-B Pro 2 2500. The main one for me is the pressure sensor. Pressing too hard with a toothbrush can lead to gum recession and tooth wear. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 has a pressure sensor that flashes red when you are pressing too hard. This will mean that you will use the brush at just the right pressure. There is no difference in speed/power of the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 and Oral-B Pro 650. Is the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 waterproof? The Smart 4 4000 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive) of the Pro 2 2000. The Pro 1000 is not a brush that has been officially launched within the UK. It has been sold primarily in the USA and select other countries around the world. The UK equivalent is the Pro 600.

Product features

The grip on the rear of the handle comes in the form of lots of dimples compared to the ridges on the 2000. After 2 minutes the alert changes slightly to tell you that you have brushed for long enough. Unlike some brushes, the Pro 2 doesn’t power off automatically. This may be a disappointment to some, but it’s not a big issue. This product is made up of durable material and doesn’t wear off easily. With its dual-mode technology, you can suit your dental requirements. You can start your mornings better with the use of this fully automatic dental care product from Oral-b. The Pro 2 2000 has a Li-Ion battery offering 14 days use compared to the 10 days of the NiMH of the Pro 1000. I’m happy to start using this brush and I got it as a Birthday present. It’s a pink one but that’s fine by me, I dont care about the colour too much and Pink is Cool! Regular price 100€ and it was on sale for 50€, good price, fair price for sure. It’s not a cheapo value electric toothbrush, but also not a high-high end one. No need to get a high end one, In my opinion. Reply

Design aside, they do the same job. When the sensor is activated they both light up red to alert you that you are brushing too hard. Reduce the pressure and the lights go out. Scrubbing the teeth hard and fast doesn’t clean them any better. Long term it will actually damage them. However, as noted earlier, there are various variants, which can mean the grip colour will be different, or the same!Despite the Pro 1000 not being a brush for the UK market, we have received requests for a comparison between these two models hence this article. Whilst it may provide some benefit, particularly if used with a 3D White brush head, the differences are going to be extremely subtle, if not impossible to notice.

Because of my bad experience with the Oral-B battery I initially wanted to buy a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean but the ones with all bells and whistles (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart HX9924/03) was more than twice as expensive as the Genius 9000. So at the end a bought a couple of Oral-B PRO 2 2000N ’s and one Oral-B Genius 9000N to see how the very best and best value differ in daily use. As the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 is a cheaper electric toothbrush, you would expect it to come with fewer features. It is actually surprising how many features Oral-B have fit into this basic electric toothbrush. Styling Oral-B is a favoured brand of dentists worldwide. This brush from Oral-B has a round head that cleans better than manual toothbrushes.

The power button on the Pro 3 does provide some texture and grip for the finger. And although the 3000 is now all smooth touch plastic, it isn’t as slippy as you might expect. The Pro 2 2900 handles have a larger rubber grip on the front of the handle that the Pro 3900 does not have. While you move the brush around your mouth, Oral-B's unique round head does all the rest. It removes up to 100% more plaque than a standard manual toothbrush, helping you to achieve healthier gums and a whiter smile, as of the first day of brushing by removing surface stains. The pacer is activated from the moment the brush is powered on, momentarily pausing the brushing action every 30 seconds to tell you to move on to the next part of the mouth. There are 4 sections in total and you need to brush the inner, outer, and biting surfaces of the teeth during this time. Whilst we don’t have specific figures for this model, we estimate that the Pro 2 2000 is about average in terms of its impact. This is because it doesn’t have additional, unnecessary extras like Bluetooth or an in handle display.
