Wax: Fairly easy to apply. Good protection. Can be tinted. Many options from Beeswax to liquid waxes. Often changes paper translucency. Some water protection properties. Application: Brush or rub on a thin layer and allow it to dry. Buff with a soft cloth. Cons: Can be expensive. Can discolor surface. Often changes paper translucency. TIP: Experiment with different waxes to find the ones that do what you need them to do. Fabric Mod Podge is really tough, very durable AND it’s washable. So I always use it for projects that need to be durable – like clothing, accessories and furniture. If you are just Mod Podging fabric to letters and hanging them on the wall, you don’t need to use the Fabric formula.

Failing to apply even layers of Mod Podge could mean that some parts of the project will lift or slip off before it is finished. Tip #2: Smooth Out Bubbles There are only a couple of items you must have to make this project. You need permanent adhesive vinyl in a color to go on your mug. You’ll also want standard grip transfer tape to get the vinyl onto your mug’s surface. The issue is when something that is Mod Podged is exposed to a lot of water. The product is not “built” for submerging or exposure to water over a long period of time (and consistently). If you are using Mod Podge on fabric-to-fabric (for instance, gluing a patch to a shirt) then yes, you should use the Fabric formulabecause it is washable. Any tips for Mod Podging fabric/using Fabric Mod Podge? While it is water based and non-toxic (so it won’t hurt you), it’s not FDA approved food-safe. it would be very unusual for a glue to be approved for use with food! So please keep it away from anything edible. 9. How do I prepare my surface to apply this formula? It is very fun to experiment with Mod Podge and it can be an addictive craft, so you have been warned! haha.

Some inks are permanent; some are not. Ink must be dry before you try to seal it. For those that are not permanent, the preferred product is a spray sealer. Glaze can be used if inks are sealed or permanent. Otherwise, they will smudge and smear. Micro Glaze is the p erfect choice for use on paper crafting projects, watercolors, and ink jet printing. How to seal Acrylic Paint Generally, it is vital to give the sealer adequate time to finish curing before using the finished craft.Mod Podge: Easy to apply. Good protection. Gloss and Matte finishes. Can be tinted. Adhesive qualities. Some protection from fingerprints. Application: Brush on a thin layer and allow it to dry. Cons: Visible brushstrokes. Can pool at the edges. TIP: A sponge brush or roller can alleviate brush marks. (NOTE: I am referring to the original Mod Podge in this article.) It feels dry within an hour, but I wouldn’t hang up a project or use it until it’s been dry for 24 hours. For Hard Coat, the recommended dry time is 72 hours. Since Hard Coat is typically used on furniture, wait for 72 hours before putting anything on the furniture. Does Mod Podge have a shelf life?
