Description

Stanley offers six essential methods arranged around the koshas (aka the five subtle layers of the body: the physical, energetic, mental, intuitive, and bliss bodies). That’s what the Center for Disease Control uncovered and why they consider inadequate sleep a national public health epidemic. While the book does give some good, no-nonsense, advice on getting children to sleep, it also tells you everything you need to know about sleeping. Shawn Stevenson learned just how important sleep is when a degenerative bone disease crushed his dreams of becoming a professional athlete.

In this five-part series, US happiness expert and positive psychologist Michelle Gielan and British journalist and author Oliver Burkeman explore ways to become truly happier, backed up by scientific evidence.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It felt like a majority of the book was spent with the author just explaining why everyone else was wrong every time they made any sleeping recommendations, but HE was right about everything. This book explores the lifestyle and medical factors that can trigger sleep disturbances, and the strategies that can be employed to rebalance them. I don’t know why I didn’t expect that media would play such a role in what I thought I knew about sleep - but I found myself continually surprised by all the myths and pop culture I had mistakenly assimilated as fact.

Finally, you'll learn how to support healthy sleep during the waking hours — what works with or against your sleep — and you'll learn when the problem might be best dealt with by your GP. I think this book was a decent read, although I am not the target audience for this book as it seems heavily catered towards people with debhilitating insomnia. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.
