I have always heard wonderful things about Danielle Steels writing, but this is the second book I have read by her, and I must say I was not impressed. The relationship between Gabrielle and Alaistair heats up, as they begin to have feelings for each other, and she learns about his cancer. The main storyline is typical Steel fare, a divorced middle-aged woman wronged by her husband, who cheated on her with a much younger woman She goes to Paris for work, meets a new man.This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. This books comes right out after the Affair, which wasn't homophobic it was incredibly sexist and just outdated. We learn more about Alaistair, as he has come to this hotel knowing he is dying, with a short few months to live; he is prepared to end his life when things get bad.

Loyal Danielle Steel fans who come to her books for the romance as much as the contemporary issues will find the central love story between Alaistair and Gabrielle to be of high interest.
