I took the button-shaped part of the connectors and sewed them into the seams along the clavicle of my Cyberman suit, so I can hang the console from my shoulders just like fastening a pair of overalls. A rare and exciting artefact from the early days of this classic BBC television series soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Altogether, the mask does look a little outsized, but once it's worn in tandem with the rest of the costume you'll hardly notice. Sometimes you can overdo it - my first suit shrunk so much I couldn't wear it so it was back to the drawing board. com, the Sell on Etsy app, and the Etsy app, as well as the electricity that powers Etsy’s global offices and employees working remotely from home in the US. There is no peripheral vision so you have to be careful, but walking in a slow and deliberate manner does not exactly destroy the illusion of being a Cyberman! The packaging is well done and save for some very minor nitpicks that only a prop enthusiast might raise it is a very good and affordable replica. But it has to be a vintage style with the famrer john style pants, and a jacket with center closure (not to mention virtually no brand name or design markings on it! It was during one of those PBS pledge drives in the late 1980s and they were interviewing loads of current and former 'Who' actors and crew. Considering how well the leather took the paint I'm considering upgrading the whole body suit to leather pieces. We have a ridiculous amount of RCA cables around our apartment, most of which no longer serve any purpose.

Unsurprisingly none of the original costumes have survived having been quickly discarded for more practical suits and helmets for ‘The Moonbase’. I don't really know exactly what the originals were made from, so my main goal was to come up with something that LOOKED more or less like the real thing. My guess is that it's another plastic piece modified from an older costume in the wardrobe or custom made. I added some black lines to suggest jointed segments, and sprayed them with the same acrylic topcoat that I used on the suit, just to be on the safe side. Original material from the early days of this cult science fiction show is incredibly rare with only a handful of significant pieces remaining today and this represents a desirable blue chip artefact from this classic Patrick Troughton serial.

Do they actually say 1967, as they are actually from a Radio Times shoot in 1970, the Cyberman has an Invasion chest unit held on with string. Once wearing the joint coils and the suit (and with some help from a few friends) I measured out the lengths of what tubing was needed where: 4 for the back, two for the front, 2 for each earm, and 2 for each leg/sides. I refolded any loose hanging metal underneath- (pretty easily moldable aluminum here) and then used duct tape on the underside to smooth out those rough edges to avoid chaffing. The only tube issues I had was one of the remaining Velcro tubes did drop off and the body side tubes tended to bend oddly but they held on after several bystander brushes and a guy hugging me! All together, it's a challenge to get into the costume, but it is fairly easy to wear once you have it on.
