Description

HS Series speakers employ an amplifier unit perfectly matched to the transducers utilised in each model of the series.

Yamaha‘s nearfield reference monitors produce an honest and precise sound, unlike studio monitors with enhanced bass and treble frequencies resulting in a more flattering first impression. Often a vortex at the either end of the port can generate air vibrations inside of the port, causing unwanted noise. Through this in-depth analysis we have arrived at the ideal port design, resulting in a reduction of audible noise up to 6dB.The HIGH TRIM switch allows you to control how much top end is produced and if your monitors are placed near walls you can adjust the ROOM CONTROL switch to reduce unnatural low-end.

The level control has a centre detent which is useful for getting the level perfectly balanced between the two monitors (providing they’re set up in an ideal location), and is a suitable level to obtain high output with most mixers or interfaces. You get a decent selection of controls including a level control (+4dB), High Trim switch (+/- 2dB) and a Room Control switch (0, -2 or -4 dB under 500Hz). With a suitable monitor controller, you can listen to your work on two different pairs of speakers and better assess the quality of your mix. Even with my less than optimal setup (about a foot away from the back wall), The HS8's present a fantastic soundstage and are resolving detail that I have never heard in my music before. The two audio connectors, XLR and TRS, are also located on the back of the box, as is the password level control. You can find these monitors in professional studios and is designed by the same person who designed the legendary ns10 Yamaha monitors.

Conclusion: there must have been some sort of compatibility issue with my old E-MU sound card, as from the moment I installed Focusrite - no problems whatsover. We tested HS5 and HS8 before, so we were curious to see what kind of sound HS7 provides compared to the HS8 model. The HS8S subwoofer is equipped with XLR and TRS phone jack inputs and for outputs XLR for L and R and EXT SUB out. The citizens of the country of the rising sun value precision, and precise work in the pursuit of perfection. Description The Yamaha HS8 Studio Monitors are one of the most purchased studio monitors in the world.

There is a level control on the back of the monitor, as well as Room Control for adjusting the low ranges and High Trim functions for adjusting the treble. Ever since the 1970’s the iconic white woofer and signature sound of Yamaha’s nearfield reference monitors have become a genuine industry standard for a reason – their accuracy. They are surprisingly powerful, and give out a genuine 120 watts SPL (unlike some of the cheap chinese PA's which in reality only deliver a third to a half of their claimed output. However, keep in mind that in a room or studio without previous acoustic treatment, the HS8 bass output will not be adequate either!
