About this deal

Luckily the odd scuff or bend does not affect gameplay in the slightest and (in my humble opinion) only builds character. The twelve player game probably counts towards government guidelines for exercise as you dash round the table! Then you will deal a further 3 single cards (or possibly up to 5 dependent on player numbers) face up to create your row next to the Ligretto pile leaving the remaining cards face down as a sort of draw pile for yourself.

The game finishes after an agreed number of rounds or when the first player reaches and agreed score. This can bring some sharp words and argument about who played a card first so house rules might be needed for clarity. A blue version of the game has been published by Playroom Entertainment for North America and other English-speaking countries since 2009.If a player is unable to play any card, they must deal three cards from their hand and reveal only the top-most card. Players create shared piles of cards from 1-10 in the centre of the table in any of the four coloured suits.

A deck is divided into three sets; a stack of 10, a row (of three to five cards depending on player number) and the remaining cards in the hand. Play is fast and lively, and demands attention to the cards being played by others as well as one's own cards. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. In Ligretto, each player has their own deck of forty cards, with cards 1-10 in four colours and a unique symbol on the back to identify which cards are theirs. If you combine two different-coloured boxes of the Ligretto basic game up to 8 players can participate and if you use all three different boxes, you can play with up to 12 people. So while it’s definitely a benefit to have finished your Ligretto pile it does not guarantee victory as there are plenty of points to be earnt by playing from your draw pile. The game in its current form was designed by Michael Michaels and published in 1988 by the German company Rosengarten Spiele.
