While the XP-PEN Deco 01 seems to be supported by DIGImend, I don't think that your tablet (v2) is supported. I personally thought that the pen on the XP-Pen Star 03 was slightly more comfortable to use than the pen on the XP-Pen Deco 01, but both tablets should perform roughly the same (although it should be noted that the XP-Pen Star 03 is an older tablet than the XP-Pen Deco 01).

I feel that they are kind of harder to press than I would personally like, but it’s not something you can’t get used to after using it for a while. The slow ruler line tests done with a no pen pressure pen were quite good at all angles, but you can see some wobble when tilting the pen completely over. I bought this tablet mostly because I couldn’t believe it was a good as my Wacom and have it connected to my backup/alternate laptop… I did initial testing and it seemed to perform well, but admittedly not used it extensively.

However, I did also have an inkling that there would be some downsides for being so cheap compared to its competitors. I personally don’t like this edge design because it digs into my wrists since my table is slightly higher than elbow height. At just 8mm it’s slim enough to slip behind a laptop in a bag, but due to its overall footprint you likely wouldn’t be using anywhere other than a desk or a table.

There is almost no flex when doing a simple twist test by gripping both ends of the tablet and twisting. The tablet itself is not a touch screen, so to interact with it you use a stylus provided with the tablet.

Whether it was creating assets for my day job, playing games, or just surfing the web I have been looking for ways to break up the repetitiveness of interfacing with it. I ended up not using the film because I didn’t like the feel, but have not seen any cosmetic damage to the tablet or the LINE FRIENDS art on it because of this. When I ran the 'uclogic-probe' command the stylus stopped working again, even if I didn't press the button. Holding this pen is a somewhat different experience from all the other pens I’ve had the chance to try, and I don’t mean that in a particularly good way. If I’m being honest it’s not really my cup of tea, but I did find myself booting it up and playing a few songs from time to time because I wanted to play something different. The other issue, which is an even smaller one, is that the two buttons on the stylus’ stem don’t always do what they’re supposed to – we had a few issues where pressing the ‘eraser’ option actually just changed to another kind of pen. It’s also likely that the footprint of the device that you will be using it on is smaller than the graphics tablet itself. Because of the tablet’s software, even say a specific handheld that used two screens but only one of which had touch input, you could map the tablet (or portion of the tablet) to control that one screen and map some of the button inputs to the buttons of the handheld.

It’s about as light as any other battery-free pen, but you can clearly tell that it’s made with budget in mind. The IAF (Initial Activation Force) test uses a 300px linear pressure pen to show the thinnest lines possible, as well as demonstrate the IAF of the tablet. After having used it almost daily for close to a year now I can confidently say that it has improved the workflow and general use of my computer, even if it’s not the perfect experience or mouse replacement for everything. This is one of the only issues I currently have with XP-Pen’s products, so hopefully they will be able to fix it soon.I’m leaning more towards the Huion due to its smaller size; I feel like it would be easier to carry around with my 13-inch MacBook Pro, and my workspace is quite limited too. Even just having a bulge like the XP-Pen P01 pen would have been a lot better than this pen design for grip.
